Even changes that provide new opportunities also include loss, the loss of what has been. Grief is the companion of loss. Although it can be long-lasting and it is always painful, grief is what helps us move on to a new equilibrium, It is what helps us find an acceptance and integration of loss into a different life. Acceptance of loss can over time make life better. It can bring endurance and wisdom.
